Photographer Jade Beall is on a mission to change the way people look at mothers bodies.
Being a mother herself, Beall published semi-nude photos of herself post-baby after the success of a photo she took of one of her friends, who is also a mother, received thousands of likes on Beall’s Facebook page.
Using crowd-sourced funding Beall is working to publish a book of photos of mothers, their bodies and their personal accounts, titled “A Beautiful Body,” in the hopes of changing views on beauty which almost always stem from photoshopped women with unattainable bodies, even when they haven’t had children.
Basically, this is awesome. Being of the camp that has suffered from body image issues nearly their entire life – Beall has too – I can only imagine what I would feel like about my body should I ever get pregnant and have kids.
Beall is single-handedly telling everyone that women with stretched out tummies and thighs that they’re beautiful too, and I couldn’t be more excited.
