Joe Biden’s Pretty Pumped About the Supreme Court’s DOMA Ruling

Friday, Vice President Joe Biden expressed positive feelings regarding the Supreme Court’s ruling on the Defense of Marriage Act.

In the White House “Being Biden” Podcast, the Vice Prez said “I think we’re on the verge of Americans moving even further,” Biden said. “I think we’ll see the day when there’s no longer a debate about whether same-sex couples should be married and whether or not they deserve every single civil right every other married couple deserves.”

Biden was one of the first in the Obama Administration to say that he is in favor of same-sex marriage – a bold move considering the intense amount of controversy surrounding this issue.

Same-sex marriage was a personal issue for Biden seeing as his aide Carlos Elizondo has been with his partner for many years but were never able to marry.

Finally. A politician who isn’t afraid to speak candidly about issues that actually matter to them.
