Bay Area rapper Lil B told Rolling Stone why he supports a woman’s right to choose between pregnancy and abortion.
The 23-year-old penned an op-ed piece for Rolling Stone after tweeting “SHOUT OUT TO WENDY DAVIS STAY #BASED AND POSITIVE! FIGHT FOR WOMENS RIGHT!” and explained why he supports women’s rights while saying that he likes to speak about things that he’s passionate about.
Lil B is known for sparking controversy, and with an album and song titled “I’m Gay” (he’s not actually gay) and having called himself a “pretty bitch” in the past, he’s out to change the way people think. Most recently he expressed the way he feels about abortion rights, and the fact that (as I and most other feminists have been saying all along) as a man, he doesn’t have the right to make that decision.
Lil B is the reason the “ignorant rapper” stereotype needs to go. While most of his peers rap about the traditional, weed, bitches and booze, Lil B has decided to use his music and fame to educate people about so-called controversial issues such as gay and women’s rights. His newest attempt at alliance is with Texas Senator Wendy Davis, who filibustered the fuck out of SB5, a bill which would have made abortions after 20 weeks illegal in Texas, along with eliminating 37 out of 42 abortion clinics in the state.
