Republicans in Texas have rescheduled a vote on new legislation regarding the abortion bans that were successfully thwarted by Texas Badass: Wendy Davis last month.

Texas Republicans have made it their mission to ban abortions after 20 weeks and shut down 37 of the 42 abortion clinics in the state. They have called a second special session to achieve what Davis’ 13-hour filibuster managed to dismantle.

It seems that Rick Perry has decided on what his last mission as Texas governor will be seeing as he has announced that despite being the longest serving governor in the Lone Star State, he will not be running for reelection next year.

I hate saying that there is a war on women. I just don’t like the sound of it. It has a hint of whiny-ness that just doesn’t sit well with me.

That being said, Perry and his Republican cronies have declared a War on Women that will go until the last person standing.

Check out this interview with Cecile Richards, president of Planned Parenthood, on The Rachel Maddow Show. She sums everything up quite nicely.
