The Daily Show Tackles Race in America – White People Don’t Know About What Doesn’t Affect Them

The Daily Show with Jon Stewart recently tackled the issue of race relations in America by bringing together two panels of average citizens, each comprised of five people, one group black and the other white. Then, two correspondents asked each group the same questions regarding race, the correspondent for the group of black people was white, and the correspondent for the group of white people was black.

Essentially what this proved, is that white people think that racism doesn’t exist in America because they don’t live with it every day.

This is an obvious assumption but nonetheless it makes white people look stupid and ignorant to real issues in the United States.

And that’s because they are. So, to people of color, I apologize for my race’s ignorance which I am sure I have also been part of myself at some points in my life. It’s not okay, but it’s not their fault either.
